Recertification
As a Mental Health First Aider, you’re part of a nationwide movement that’s growing every day. To help ensure the vital lessons from Mental Health First Aid last a lifetime, we encourage First Aiders who completed their MHFA course 3 or more years ago to recertify. By renewing your certification, you’ll refresh your mental health support skills and stay ready to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. You’ll always be prepared to provide support to someone in your community who may need it.
Recertification is simple, affordable and online. Get it done in under 60 minutes for just $30.95.
How It Works
Your Adult or Youth MHFA certification is valid for 3 years. When it expires, we’ll send you an email with instructions on how to purchase your Mental Health First Aid recertification course and get started.
Purchase the Course
1. Log in to the MHFA Storefront using the email address where you received this email and follow the prompts to access your account.
2. Then, go to the top navigation bar, select “First Aider Recertification” and purchase the course for $30.95.
If you prefer, you can retake the full Adult or Youth MHFA course to maintain your certification, rather than the recertification course. To do so, use our Find-a-Course tool to select a course that works for you.
Complete the Course
Grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and dive in! The recertification course includes a refresher on the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE), how to recognize when a person needs MHFA and how to provide aid.
1. Log in to MHFA Connect:
- Use the email address where you received your recertification message.
- If you forgot your password or don’t have one, select “Forgot Password” and follow the prompts.
2. Choose the recertification course under “Enrolled Courses.”
3. Complete all course activities.
Access Your Certificate
Once you’ve finished the course, we’ll send you a new Certificate of Completion that you can download.
